Turkish Automotive Components Industry
Turkish Automotive Components Industry comprised some hundred plant operating in various branches of activity. In the last 10 years, the quality of Turkish parts and components producers have reached to international standards together with exports to Western Industrialised Countries. Major domestic component manufacturers are engaged in substantial programs to improve their production. Around 100 major component manufacturers from Europe or other countries have close ties with Turkish producers via joint ventures. At present, the local parts and components production consists of:
Total exports of the Turkish supplier industry realized 1,3 USD billion in 2000 and they destine to about 165 countries. The value of exports has been increasing steadily. The companies are supplying major European producers such as Opel, GM, VW and Ford. The share of components in total automotive exports reached to % 55 and % 72 of which destined to European Union Countries.
